The grapes come only from a small parcel located in the most prized area of the Gevrey Chambertin commune, \u003cstrong\u003eright on the border of the legendary Grand Cru of Clos de Bèze\u003c\/strong\u003e, Napoleon's favorite. The area enjoys excellent east-facing exposure at an altitude of about 250-280 meters above sea level. The soils are shallow, composed of limestone and limestone marl rich in marine fossils, resting directly on the parent rock. At the end of manual harvesting, with selection of the best bunches, classic red fermentation is carried out.
