Pinot Nero Riserva 'Flora' Girlan 2019

Pinot Noir Riserva "Flora" from Girlan winery is a juicy and fresh red wine, representing one of the most widely used grape varieties in the winemaking world. The historic and well-known Girlan winery produces many labels based on this vine, enhancing the territory and trying to tell through every sip all the nuances it expresses. One of the aims of the winery is to revalue ancient South Tyrolean vines such as Vernatsch, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir always paying attention to safeguarding the traditions of the past in modern production processes.

The "Flora" reserve of the South Tyrolean winery Girlan is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from 3 sub-areas: "Girlan", "Mazon" and "Pinzon". The vineyards are located at an altitude between 380 and 530 meters above sea level and come, on one side, from morainic deposits on volcanic porphyry rock and, on the other, from clay calcareous soils with west exposure. The grapes are harvested manually and after destemming the must ferments in temperature-controlled steel vats. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in barriques and small wooden barrels before resting in the bottle for another 6 months.

Pinot Noir Girlan Riserva "Flora" dresses the glass with a brilliant ruby red mantle that introduces intense aromas of berries, black cherry, cherry and sweet spices. The mouthfeel reveals a tasty and velvety finish distinguished by a fine tannin that accompanies a balanced and harmonious finish.
