Aglianico del Vulture 'Don Anselmo' Paternoster 2012

The Aglianico del Vulture "Don Anselmo" by Paternoster is one of those wines that tell the history of an area, the history of a company, the story of a family. It’s dedicated to the memory of his grandfather, the founder, the symbol, the roots, the essence of the continuity of our family in the Vulture. A story that began long ago, which starts in 1925 when Anselmo reflects the experience gained from his father and decides to put aside the sale, the first bottles of Aglianico. We are in the beautiful area of Vulture in the town of Barile, on small vineyards at 600 meters above sea level; vineyards with a very advanced age and with very low yields that raise the quality of this Aglianico "Don Anselmo". After a maceration on the skins in steel that lasts for 15 days, the Aglianico del Vulture "Don Anselmo" by Paternoster evolves to 50% in large Slavonian oak casks and the remaining half in barrel, before settling for 12 months in the bottle. And it is precisely its aging in wood which gives an ample and complex bouquet where the notes of ripe fruit give way, over the years, with spices such as vanilla, tobacco, coffee and black pepper.
