The Erbaluce di Caluso "Cariola" comes from a careful selection of the best grapes Erbaluce cleverly cultivated by the family Ferrando on moraine soils, rich in nutrients. In the Canavese, the family Ferrando has become over the years a veritable institution: Giuseppe founded this company in 1890, while his son Luigi gave a decisive impetus to the growth of the family. The real breakthrough, however, came in 1957 with Giuseppe, grandson of the founder, who depends on the production of Carema, Barolo mountain. In subsequent years the Carema, another highlight of the family Ferrando, is flanked from the Erbaluce of Caluso, a native vine Canavese that in a land of great red wines has established itself. The Erbaluce of Caluso is undoubtedly a vigorous vine, but very demanding; a "rare grape variety" that needs a terroir of his own to express themselves to the fullest.
