Pinot Bianco 'Platt & Riegl' Girlan 2017

The Pinot Bianco "Plattenriegl" is another very successful wine of this beautiful winery, Girlan, Cellar Cornaiano, was founded in 1923 and has now been an innovative breakthrough in the wine scene in South Tyrol; was the first, in fact, to distribute the compensation to producers in relation to the quality of their products. A strategy that makes clear what Girlan is essential for the development of one of the most interesting areas of Italy; the Pinot Bianco “Plattenriegl” begins in the vineyard, 550 meters above sea level, above San Michele, on soils rich in limestone and gravel; a very special terroir, completed by the proximity of the peaks Mendola, which guarantee the high temperature range between day and night; factors that contribute significantly to ensuring a soft fullness to this Pinot Blanc. After manual harvesting, the Pinot Bianco is left to ferment for 75% steel and for 25% in large oak barrels; on the lees remain there for six months and during this time develops its delicate aroma, its enveloping, its softness.
