Rum Vieux Agricole Reserve Special Neisson

The Rum Agricole Special Reserve of Neisson distillery is a blend rum produced from pure sugarcane, which is native of Martinique island. The process to have such a valuable product is the result of centuries of craft traditions handed down within Neisson family, currently managed by Ms. Claudine. Sugar cane is fermented and distilled in pot Savalle stills. The rums at the base of the “Special Reserve” are aged for ten years in new French and American oak barrels and older barrels in which bourbon and whiskey have been stored. The woods and the character of rums, which are selected from different vintages, give life to balanced and rich aromas and flavors, where both sugarcane and the oak can be perceived: a soft and warm intensity. The maître of the distillery recommends to drink it pure, served in a snifter or in the classic version with the syrup of sugar cane. Awarded with the gold medal in the Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition of 2007, this Neisson rum is very special, distinguished for its heart of tropical fruits, its spiced and smoked essence, which is gently veiled by a softness of vanilla and almond.
