Sangiovese Superiore Riserva 'Pruno' Drei Donà 2010

Pruno Drei Dona is the icon of a real "renaissance" for the great crus of Sangiovese di Romagna, being born as a company reserve produced from a careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard of property. The Drei Dona Estate was built on the ancient hills of Romagna among the city of Forlì, Castrocaro and Predappio, in a strategic position at the mouth of the river valleys of Rabbi and Montone, around one of the watchtowers that Caterina Sforza in 1481 wanted to build to defend his territories. Most of the 23 hectares of vineyards are precisely devoted to the Sangiovese di Romagna, whose old plants were subjected to a particular study that led to their restoration through the replanting of the mass selection of Palazza. The work in the vineyard of the Drei Donà family, carried out with the utmost rigor and dedication, is based on principles of sustainable agriculture and protection of biodiversity in the area of ​​production, with low external inputs, and complete autonomy from the energetic point of view. Pruno, which takes its name from one of the horses of the family team, is the purest expression of this rich terroir characterized by a great bond with the Sangiovese grape: produced with an authentic philosophy of Chateau, is rested for a year and half in barriques of Allier, respecting the need for long aging that this noble wine requires.
