Vermentino di Gallura "Sciala" from Vigne Surrau winery is one of the most applauded Sardinian white wines in recent years. Vigne Surrau's "Sciala" is a Vermentino Superiore born on medium-imposed hilly soils of granite disintegration, identified by the winery's agronomic staff as the most suitable for the production of intense and structured whites. At the winery, the grapes are immediately crushed and destemmed, followed by brief contact between the skins and the must at low temperature. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16°-18°C. Before bottling, there is a maturation of several months on the fine lees, put in suspension by batonnage.

Surrau's Vermentino "Sciala" is the synthesis of the best characteristics of the type: softness and good alcohol content, balanced by great freshness and intense flavor. The aromas are reminiscent of exotic fruit, sweet almonds, citrus and Mediterranean scrub, with typical iodine and almost brackish nuances in the background.
