The Single Malt Whisky Distiller's Edition Sherry Cask Finish Talisker is one of the kings of the Talisker distillery: “The king of the drinks” was precisely the definition that the Scottish writer Stevenson, author of the immortal adventure novels, such as “Treasure Island”, attributed to these compatriot whiskies. It is the only distillery of the beautiful Isle of Skye and its production dates back to 1830, still faithful to the ancient craft methods and always looking for new and unexpected flavors. Time is an essential component of the hard work that the men of Skye make every day of the year: the timing of maturation of whisky is very long, in order to give to the raw materials, which are natural, the possibility to develop their own flavors. In the case of this Single Malt Whisky Distiller's Edition, the spirit is created from a very special processing, being at first in the classic American oak casks and then, to finish, in Amoroso sherry oak casks, a sweeter Oloroso sherry. These former casks crown the typical smoked aromas of Talisker whiskies with sweet and fragrant scents of fruit. On the other hand, the peaty aroma is due to a simple, but valuable, ingredient: water, which is from an underground spring, from Hawk Hill, “Cnoc nan Speireag” in Gaelic, which runs along peat deposits.
